Trouble signing into OneDrive on HPTouchsmart 300 running Windows 7

My aging HPTouchsmart 300, operating on Windows 7, has suddenly stopped signing into OneDrive. Despite repeated attempts, it remains stuck on the 'Signing in' status without granting access.
