Hi

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate. I have also downloaded VLC (Video Lan) to watch .avi movies.

However, when I watch a movie after connecting a headset, the sound comes from both, the built-in speakers and the headset. I have tried few settings but the problem is still there.

Can anyone help.

Hi

I looked in there. It shows only the Speakers as available option even when the headset is connected.

What's your Mobo Does it have onbord sound if so it may have Realtek HD Audio check to see you have Realtek. Then do this, click on the speaker ok there is two speakers in the tray click on the orange one NOT the white one. Then go to advanced settings and select ("Mute rear output device, when front head phone plugged in."). Select OK then OK again.
