Skyrim help needed.

I just bought The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim and have a question about it.In the beginning of the game after they execute the guy and the dragon starts attacking, where are you supposed to go to escape out of that portion of the game ?

You should follow the NPC into the Guardhouse and he will tell you how to proceed
