Save window sizes for separate folders

If I change the size of a window, say in WIndows Explorer, it results in
all the folders I open having the same size. Is there a way to customize
each folder that you want to be a particular size?

TIA

Any window you want to resize permanently must be the /last/ window closed.

Grab the corners of the window and drag it to full screen size. Do not use
Maximize. Close all other windows first via the Taskbar and this one last.
Windows will remember the *last* screen size used the next time you open the
program.

Thank you Bruce. I tried what you said. As an example I'll use the two
folders on my desktop. WIndows explorer and Games. I opened WIndows
Explorer. It is the only window opened. I dragged it to full screen and
then closed it. The next time I opened it it was full screen. However,
any other window I open is now full screen. I really don't want the
windows at full screen. How do I adjust each window to the size I want and
keep them there? Both windows will be a different size.

Thanks again.

That /shouldn't/ be a global setting. Try this:

Whichever shortcut you are using to launch IE, right click it and select
properties. Under the 'Run' drop-down, choose "Maximized". Do the same for
Games, but choose Normal Window.

If IE open OK and Games is still full screen, close everything but Games and
drag that to the size you want it and close it.

You can't have different size settings for different folders. Whatever was the last setting
for a particular folder will be the size for the next folder.
Vista was always forgetting folder settings so I guess Microsoft has fixed it by removing
any size options in Win7.

No. Folders don't have windows. Explorer has a window which it uses to
display folder content. The only thing you can set for individual folder
frames is the format.

Bdog,

Within Windows 7, you cannot set individual Windows sizes or positions.

However, there is a program called WindowManager that can manage each
individual window in both size and location on the desktop.

I am not trying to sell the program, but I am a user and like it very
much. You can look up the program at the following site if you are
interested: www.desksoft.com

It is a little expensive at $10.00, but I like having the folders
opening where I want them.
