Partition sharing problem

Zootal

Win7 64 bit pro.
Two physical drives.
Drive 1: C E
Drive 2: D F G

all partitions are NTFS

I have D and F shared at the root of the respective partition. Settings are
identical, and I even created a second share on both drives just to make
sure I had them the same. From another computer running any OS (linux, XP,
Win7) I can access the D partition but not the F (permission denied). What
would cause this? I can't see any difference between how they are setup.

No home group, just plain ordinary sharing via Properties -> Sharing ->
Advanced Sharing. Add share, give it a name, set permissions for Everyone
to allow everything. I even tried adding Guest with same permissions.

You make no mention of setting or resetting file level permissions (the
permissions you mention above are share level).
