Open Outlook with Contacts

J

James Silverton

I don't seem to be able to be able to control how Outlook opens. I would
be grateful if someone could tell me how to open it in Contacts. I don't
use Outlook for mail anyway but that's how it always opens.

Thanks in advance.

It's in the options but it would help if you would be so kind as to tell
us which version of Outlook you're using.
Thanks and apologies! I just assumed the latest version since this is a
W7 group but I am using Outlook 2010.

You don't say what version, but in Outlook 2010, you can set it on the
File tab, in Options | Advanced.

And by the way, although it was an easy question and I answered it, in
the future, please ask Outlook questions in an Outlook newsgroup. Not
only is your message off-topic here in a Windows 7 newsgroup, but if
you ask in the right place, you will have a much better chance of
getting the answer you need, since that's where the experts in your
technology hang out.

Thanks! After posting my question here I did repost it in
microsoft.public.outlook.general. I am still to see any replies. Since
MS disowned the news groups, I tend to post where there is some action
and a.w.general is such a group.

That is a completely illogical assumption, since the version of Windows
has nothing at all to do with the version of Outlook. That's just one
of several reasons your question is off-topic and should be taken to
the appropriate Office or Outlook group.

Thanks for the kind advice! You know, sometimes you do something and
then realize later that you could have done better. Not everyone is
perfect :)
