Live mail window

Q

Quilljar

I am running the latest version of windows live email and have recently
upgraded windows 7 64 bit with the SP1
Now I get an annoying popup window asking me to sign up for live mail each
time I bring up my email client. I do not want live mail. How can I stop
this wretched popup window?

Here's what I got from your post:
1. You're running the latest version of Windows Live Mail (WLM).
2. You don't want WLM.

So, decide which email client you'd like to use, install it, and stop
using WLM. Does that cover everything?

Hi Char,
I agree my post was not clear, but then nor is my problem!
I enjoy using Windows Live Mail 2011 but it used to come up without this
pop-up advert for itself asking me to sign up.
I have been using MS stuff since 1995 and it seems to have got more and more
intrusive with quite inexplicable popups and interference with my life as
time goes by. I am not surprised that you cannot understand my post. I
cannot understand what Microsoft is trying to do....
Bring back the Acorn BBC micro I say!

You could always remove Windows Live Mail then use another email client. I
use Windows Mail on Windows 7 cos I like it. It's available from a Vista
disc or to download

there are plenty or good email clients out there, if like me you don't get
on with WLM
:)

That is the real question!
I too am trying to rid my machines of Windows Live.

This morning I discovered that Internet Explorer has managed to
accumulate many add-ons that I do not recall authorizing. If you bring
it up and go through the management tools you will find many instances
where Live has hooks into your system. Since I just disabled all of
them I don't know what the consequences will be but I am willing to
find out.

It may be just my perception, but it seems like IE is running much
faster.
I use Thunderbird for EMAI, and Agent for Usenet.

Control Panel, Uninstall a program, Windows Live Essentials 2011.

I *assume* it will work :)
