Ive tried to install windows 7 Home Ed. and it tells me that no drive is detected.

I've tried installing it onto the disk while It had XP (32bit) installed, then Ubuntu(v10.10 64 Bit), then with the disk freshly initialised. Same result.

I've set up my optical drive to have primary boot priority at startup. And it appears that the HDD is recognised by the BIOS at startup

Do I need to download any additional files and put them on a USB stick or is there a workaround?

Help!

Here are my specs:
ASUS A8v Deluxe, (unsure of BIOS Version. I believe it to be up to date)
AMD X2 4800,
Sony DVD RW DW Q-30 A
3GiB RAM,
WD 500GiB HD,
ATI x1950 pro.

Further information: It appears that I have been sold an OEM version. I suspect that it needs aditional software to sort?
