IE10 - Chrome - Firefox - Win7

Updated from IE9 to IE10 yesterday. Visually IE10 looks much the same
but it appears to be faster. Of all the three main browsers, to me
there appears to be not much difference so what is your favourite?

I am inclined towards Chrome then IE10.

I have tried all three, and like Firefox the best.

I have to say the IE is a lot faster since I changed from Vista to
Windows 7. I couldn't use IE with Vista, because it was so slow.

I don't think I care much for Chrome. At least not for certain work.

I clearly prefer Chrome,
I would like to use Firefox, but I miss the embedded translator and
there is to much hassle updating Flash and such things, I never had
that sort of trouble with Chrome.

IE is only used for special vebsites, and when I start it, all other
windows on the screen flicker, poor programming.

The only huge minus I see with Chrome, is their aggressive advertising.
Around Christmas I looked at a hat in a web-shop and since I don't
normally use that kind of fashion web-shops, with a huge marketing
budget, I had to look at that stupid hat for a whole month. No matter
what site I visited, at least one adds was from that closing company.

Does Chrome have a "clear cookies" option ?

Squashing the cookies, should stop that hat :)

I tried to help a mate with his computer which had only Chrome
installed, it seemed to take over everything, may have been the way he
had it set up but I hated it.

I use Pale Moon as my number one browser, a better and faster
implementation of Firefox.

I like the way Chrome synchronises all your browser info no matter what
computer or device you log on to.

You do need to customise Chrome to your requirements. Straight out of
the box it may well not to be everyones liking.

Give Opera a try.

My favorite is none of the above. It is Maxthon
(http://www.maxthon.com/)

And let me add to the above that what my favorite is or what anyone
else's favorite is should not overly influence you in choosing what to
use. You should use what *you* like best, and the way to find out is
by spending a fair amount of time with each one, getting to know its
strengths and weaknesses.

So I'm not trying to talk you into using Maxthon instead of the
others. But I am trying to talk you into giving it a trial for a
decent amount of time.

I've been a suckef for Fx since it was still called "Phoenix"... Nothing
beats all those add-ons.

I used Opera since about v5.05?0.15? when we had to pay for it.

I switched from Opera to Maxthon and happily used it for a long time.

Eventually Maxthon changed their updates which didn't work on my
computer.

I now use Firefox and don't have any problems.

My Firefox (on WinXP sp3) has a Translator, and if I could remember how
it got there I would tell you (and install it in Windows 7 too).

I went to the Add-ons manager (under Tools), searched for Translate, and
I was told there are 489 hits.

Maybe you installed one of those.

But I don't recommend trying to find the wheat in all that chaff :)

BTYW, I didn't search for Translation or Translator. Maybe there are
many more...

Probably "Google Translator for Firefox", to judge from the red "T" icon
.... yes, installed on other Firefoxes. Thanks.

And thank you - that explains why I don't have a translator here ;-)

Stay away from Chrome. It's basically just Google spyware packaged as a
browser. To install Chrome is to bring Google's snoopiness right into
the inner workings of your machine.

(moreover) And don't always use Google for search, there are other very
good search engines.

FireFox is OK, a little dated, and IE 10 is better than ever and
ironically, the most secure if you want it to be.
