There is no QL in W7, as such. Just drag an icon onto the task bar and it
should "quick launch".

You can restore the original Quick Launch as Jolly Polly suggests, or
you can create your own custom toolbar. I found this preferable because I
can put the folder wherever I want, and unlike Quick Launch, it comes
with nothing preinstalled. Just create an empty folder with any name at
any location. Lacking any imagination, I named my toolbar folder
"toolbar" and put it in the root of my "D" drive as "D:\toolbar." Then
when I added a new toolbar, I navigated to that folder and selected it.
I can add and arrange shortcuts just as I would with Quick Launch.

The Quick Lunch toolbar? Is that some sort of application from
Subway?

But seriously, I don't think there's a specific toolbar. You just
right-click an item in the Start menu and select Pin to Taskbar. You
can also right-click a running program's box on the taskbar and
select Pin to Taskbar.

Thanks. I wanted to joke about that, but I couldn't come up with any
ideas :)

ho to restore the Quick Launch Toolbar:
If you're unhappy with the new taskbar, even after shrinking it, then it
only takes a moment to restore the old Quick Launch Toolbar.
Right-click the taskbar, choose Toolbars > New Toolbar, type
%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
into the Folder box and click Select Folder. Now right-click the
taskbar, clear 'Lock the taskbar', and you should see the Quick Launch
toolbar, probably to the right. Right-click its divider, clear Show Text
and Show Title to minimise the space it takes up. Complete the job by
right-clicking the bar and selecting View > Small Icons for the true
retro look.

Yes, I looked at the link from Jolly polly for a method to do that,
which is what I assumed you had used.

But I don't use the QL toolbar - which I abbreviated so as to avoid an
embarrassing typo :)

You mean a fast food place in India?

Please don't meat out the punishment I deserve for that :)
That reminds me, I get distracted by all the meats in the deli
section. Must be my short attention spam.

Random thought: When a cannibal arrives late to the cook-out, do his
friends give him the cold shoulder?

No. A quick hand-off....

Hey, mac, knock off the puns, or you'll get a pizza this.

Pretty cheesy.

I'd say that you've gone too far this time, but that's the point, isn't
it...

But oregano should have spelled it "thyme" in order to stay on topic.

Sage thinking, Gene.

Now you've got me laughing out loud - which is distracting me from
making any puns. That's probably a good thing, though.
