I did. No reply.
Sorry, I was involved elsewhere.

Here is my story.

I do have Outlook installed on this same machine as WLM. My only objection
to it (Outlook); there is no option "delete mail from server". I really
dislike WLM.

So my workaround is to go to my ISP e-mail web page, pick the messages I
don't want downloaded and create the rule there. I tried that this AM and
I'm awaiting results.

To me, if I had to go to that much trouble then the spammers have won.
I see no value in spending additional time trying to prevent certain
emails from being downloaded when it's *SO* much faster and easier to
set up local rules to handle downloaded email. The bad stuff still
gets deleted before I see it, but it does so without any intervention
from me.

I agree. Unless you are on a dial-up connection such that downloading
the messages is a tremendous burden, It's much easier and
straightforward to just download them and program your mail agent to
deal with them locally. The end result appears the same to you, which
is, you don't see the spam.

That said, Pegasus mail allows you to set up filters that act on the
mail on the server before downloading. I never use that feature, but
it's nice to know it's there.

There should be if I understand what you're saying, look in
Tools/Account Settings, select an email account and click on "Change",
click on More Settings/Advanced and unselect the "Leave Mail on Server"
box.

I thought he meant the ability to delete email from the server before
downloading, or to put it another way to delete it from the server
instead of downloading it. The option to "Leave mail on server" won't
help in that case.

As always, YMMV but since Outlook 2007 and later don't have Quote Fix
available they're not usable email clients IMHO.

The only option I can find there is "Leave a COPY of messages on the
server". Thanks for the input. MS has a strange way of giving with one
hand, and taking away with the other. I liked OE. It was simple and bare
bones, perfect for e-mail.

Then how is this. Same on that link but different steps

The Windows Live Mail (WLM) program cannot import a PST file from the
Office Outlook program.

You have several choices. All of them require that you have a working
version of Outlook and that the desired PST file is active in Outlook.

1) If you have Windows XP, you can import from Outlook into Outlook
Express (OE) and then import from Outlook Express into WLM.

2) If you have Windows Vista you can import from Outlook into Windows
Mail (WM) and then import from WM into WLM.

3) Install the Outlook Connector and upload the messages to a Hotmail
account then in WLM setup the same Hotmail account

4) How to Use IMAP to Move Messages
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=311129
If you have access to an IMAP mail account, the procedure outlined above
will work between any 2 mail clients that support IMAP, regardless of
operating system. Both AOL/AIM and Gmail offer free IMAP accounts.

Of the above options, I believe #3 is the only one that would let you
transfer your calendar.
