How do I see (and choose) actual font names before I install them?

Hi

I have a huge number (several thousand) Fonts files from my old WindowsXP PC.
I only want to install certain specific fonts. But the font files all have very short, unhelpful file names

How can I see what their actual font names will be when I install them in Windows7 ?

Cheers

Hi shiphen - Welcome to w7forums

I found this link - Fonts included with each version of Windows

However if you go here - "Control Panel >> All Control Panel Items >> Fonts"
You would have the option to preview, hide, or delete any fonts installed within Windows 7. In other words if you transfered all of them over you could delete the fonts you don't want.

For a free font viewer I use The Font Thing.

You can get it HERE
