Firefox minimizes automatically

Hi, just got a new pc running w7 & I have a question for the experts:
I find on some websites, when I open them they immediately minimize to the taskbar. Now I can open them up again no problem but why does this happen & can I stop it?

If you're using Internet Exploder, I suggest you try something like Firefox.

If you are using Firefox then I suggest you check the settings in Options > Under the "Tabs" Tab. Try it with all of them checked.

Maybe firefox opens only on taskbar-will not open on desktop

I have all of them checked except the last, "Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar." I just tried clicking a link with it on, but the page still pops up, so it's apparently not that, even though it sound suspicious.

I'm pretty sure that all the "Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar." does is show a mini screen of the webpage when you hover over it in the taskbar. And even that only seems to work when Aero is enabled.
