Could a moderator or Ian, tell me if there is such a section. I cannot find it? I ask, as I have noticed a couple of posts to leaked Microsoft material lately, and wondered if there is any ruling on it.
Could a staff member also tell me how I can delete "Social Group Invitations" if they do not interest me?

When I go to the bottom of the page and click on "Privacy Statement" it shows a FAQ search bar in the page that pops up.

I don't know, maybe that will help.

Oh oh oh.... found it. Bottom left of page, under the Grey Bar: Posting Rules. Further down in blue text under a separator line: Forum Rules

AH Dumb me . Thanks
Yes. Just read them. Not too much there. I would not be sure that disclosing any links to pirated material is, in fact, breaking any laws, " or otherwise violative of any " , It's the persons who are posting the leaks who are breaking the law. So perhaps the links are OK.

There's the Privacy Policy that has already been linked to, and there is a general forum FAQ (which I will need to expand on and link to, as it's burried in the CP somewhere).

As a general rule, linking to anything illegal such as cracks, keygens, warez etc... is a big no. I'll get something in writing just to clarify this :)

With regard to the social groups, I'm going to be closing those down tonight as it's getting quite confusing having 2 places to post. I'll be making a post on this in a moment. I also had trouble trying to find out how to ignore a social group request, if I remember, there was a small link in the top right corner of the social group page which would disable the notification. This should disappear anyway once the groups are gone :)

Yes, I was "invited" to join one on here last night. I don't want to participate in any of these groups, especially if it involves advocating software piracy in any form.

Thankyou, Ian.
"As a general rule, linking to anything illegal such as cracks, keygens, warez etc... is a big no. I'll get something in writing just to clarify this"

That was the one which was really nagging at me!

Even if Ian hadn't officially written anything out, you better believe that my first response to illegal material is post deletion, a warning, and later a banning. When websites are increasingly becoming responsible for the contents of its members, I do not intend to let w7forums be responsible for piracy. :)

Yep, you've hit the nail on the head there Thrax :) I'm glad all of the mods are on the same page here.

I've added a very brief FAQ/Guidelines section to the FAQ, which now appears on the quicklinks menu. I'll update this with more information over the coming weeks. :)

BTW Dave, now that the social groups have been disabled, has your invitation message now gone away?
