Editing start menu in 7

O

OllytheOst

having never played with vista i was used to simply installing progs then creating folders/subfolders in the start menu to tidy up access. Is there a way to do this in 7 (was it possible in Vista?) Also missing location shortcuts in quickstart bar. I think that i can only put programs on taskbar and as yet havn't got head around jumplists

The start menu can be found in
C:\Users\<your user name>\Appdata\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu

Appdata is a hidden folder so you must enable View hidden folders.

You still have toolbars also just like the quick start bar. Rightclick taskbar go to toolbars and select one or create a new one

This is only half of the start menu.

For example in this folder tree you do not have the links to "Calculator", "Paint", "WordPad" and ""Sticky Notes" of "Start menu" - "All programs" - "Accessories".
These links resides in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu
