It relies on sptd.sys.

Not a good idea by any means because sptd.sys is notorious for crashing Windows 7. It's actually one, if not, the worst of all software for this.

Much better to use PowerIso as I've never seen a bsod caused by it.

Hmm... no problem here yet on 32bit box. The first thing I did though was remove it from the start up folder. Couple of reboots and no issues.

Having said that I'm not that impressed with it. Wouldn't buy it. I have been using Magic Disc for virt drives and Imgburn for creating images.

I'll check out Poweriso, thanks.

I've used Daemon Tools, and in their current version the Lite (freeware) version for years now, though I too removed it from start. I also had Magic Disc, on XP, but didn't even install that when I went W7. I personally cannot say I have ever had any problems with either of them.

Ive used DT on XP many times without any problems but not used it on Windows 7, its a nice tool for making virtual drives :).

I'll add another shout for MagicDisk , works like a charm on W7 Ultimate 64bit.
