Hello there,
I am reaching out to this community for some guidance regarding optimizing the performance of my Windows 7 system. Despite its age, I am still quite fond of Windows 7 and prefer using it over newer versions for various reasons.
Although; lately; I have noticed a decline in performance, with my system feeling sluggish and occasionally freezing up. I have tried some basic troubleshooting steps like running disk cleanup; checking for malware; and disabling unnecessary startup programs; but the issue persists.
I am running Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit.
My hardware includes an Intel Core i5 processor; 8GB of RAM; and a 500GB HDD.
I mainly use my computer for general browsing; office work; and occasional gaming.
I am hoping to get some advice from the community on further steps I can take to improve performance. Are there any specific tweaks or optimizations I should consider? Is there software I can use to diagnose and fix potential issues? Additionally, I am open to hardware upgrades if necessary, though I'd prefer to exhaust software solutions first.
Also, I have gone through this post: https://www.w7forums.com/threads/blue-prism-screen.21041/ which definitely helped out a lot.
Furthermore; I am curious if there are any Windows 7 enthusiasts here who have found unique ways to prolong the lifespan and performance of their systems.
Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.
