I have had KB4015549 Windows update fail to install (honest) 35 times since it’s issue. I have a Dell Latitude 6520 laptop with Intel Core I5 CPU with 8GB RAM running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I have Macafee livesafe and Malware Bytes security programs running.
I have tried the following with no good results:
Troubleshooting widget (5 times or more)
Downgraded Net Framework from 4.6.1 to 4.5.2 (per advice from Windows 7 forum)
Found error 8024200d and 0x8024200d with various troubleshooting runs.
Ran System Update Readiness Tool and installed it, scanned my system.
Ran install update program again...same resulting failure.
Opened Windows Catalog Update to KB4015549 and then…
Installed KB 4015546 and 4014661 (contained within KB4015549 ?) and ran install updates again.
Same results of “failed”
Every time I shut down the computer I get the notice that it is not to be unplugged while it installs an update...that fails anyway.
What help can you suggest? What haven't I done that should be done? I am concerned for the security of my laptop or I would simply mark this update to not be installed. What the heck. It isn't protecting my computer now.
