connecting to wireless printer

I'm trying to connect my laptop to works HP J6400 wireless printer and it won't connect. I have manually added the print driver but it wont connect. My laptops wi-fi pickup up the wi-fi signal on printer as hpsetup but it just wont connect to it. It has to be something simple and I'm overlooking.
