Alright, you will have to install the drivers manually.
Run the installer. It will fail but that is ok. Make sure that it has created a C:\ATI directory.
Go to Device manager.
Right click on your video adapter and go to properties.
Select the "Driver" tab.
Then the "Update Driver" button.
You will need to find the location manually, don't let Windows try to find it.
Browse to C:\ATI\Support It should be a .inf file.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Let us know how you go.
I dont got a C:\ATI\Support. I only got a C:\ATI\ which you told me to make.. Nothing more..I dont got this ini file either... I do got a C:\AMD\Support tho, but no .ini file.

Ok, if it's not C:\ATI, that is ok.

Are you able direct the Device Manager -> Video Adapter -> Properties -> "Driver" tab -> "Update Driver" button to C:\AMD ?
The file should be a .inf NOT .ini.

Yes sorry.. I am able to direct to that folder yes, but there is no INF file in that directory. And when i click install new drivers, it says that the best driver software for your device is already installed.

Have you tried looking in all the folders in the directory C:\AMD

Or do a search in c:\AMD for *.inf

There is a .inf for you video card.
Are you able to get a screen shot of Just the c:\AMD directory? With all the subfolders expanded?

See the directory "Drivers\Display\W7_INF
I would suggest that you direct "Driver Update" to that directory.

So run Device Manager
Select your Display Adapter and right click, select "Properties"
Select the "Driver" tab
Click the "Update Driver"
You will then need to browse to that Drivers\Display\W7_INF directory.

Please give that a go.

Not only that.. I want to update my drivers because they are out of date.. I cant even run WoW in highest settings anymore, which i could do before.. And with catalyst i could change the graphics to gaming mode or battery saving. I had it before when i bought this computer, but somehow i dont got it anymore and when i tried to install it again it gives me the error message. Thats why..

What is the model number of your Video card in the laptop?
What version of the driver do you have?
Also your laptop is a DV3, but what model DV3??

WoW is Windows on Windows. Which is for running older Windows stuff. Gaming mode? What difference did you notice in "Gaming mode"??

Version driver: 8.15.10.2622

Model: dv3-2370ee

The difference in gaming mode were very big.. When i was NOT in gaming mode i could not run WoW on the highest settings.. And when i was in gaming mode i could run Star wars the force unleashed on medium settings with the highest resolution with 40-60 frame rate.. And now i cant run it even with the lowest settings.. it gives me max10 frames rate. And i could do that with the catalyst.. Thats why i need it.. But if you cant help me its alright.. Someone else will probably post here with some instructions.

Whilst I think games are pointless and a total waste of time. I will suggest a couple of things.
I was thinking WoW was a windows architecture acronymn not World of Warcraft.
You never said where you got the drivers from. So, try downloading them from either AMD or HP, whichever you haven't tried before. But you will need your model number for that not just a series number!

But also what does setup.exe do in c:\AMD\Support\12-6-legacy.....
Also do a custom install and only select Catalyst to be installed nothing else.

Good luck.
