Hi all,
I have a laptop that has windows 7 installed, it hasn't been used or updated since 2012. On trying to update internet explorer from 9 to 10 a download box that is 'windows update standalone installer' that says searching for updates on this computer appears but it stays that that for hours without completing anything. I have also tried many times to install Windows updates but this also will not work it just gets stuck for hours on the search box. I have read a few posts that say to download the 'system update readiness tool' which I have tried to do but after downloading it then goes to the same box that is windows update standalone installer that says searching for updates on this computer but again stays that that for hours without completing.
Please can anyone offer offer any suggestions ?
