cannot find printer

I recently installed a new BGN router which works fine on my Windows 7
64 bit home wlan.
But I discovered that my main network printer (Brother HL-2270DW) which
previously worked fine now no longer prints and when I click on "find
the printer" I get a popup that says:
"active directory domain services is currently unavailable".

Not sure where to go from here.

I uninstalled the printer and when I went to re-install it, "add a
printer" could not find it.

I looked in W7 services and there is nothing called "directory domain
services"

I think I may have stumbled on the cause but do not know how to fix it.

I printed a status page on the printer and it showed that the printer is
connected to the old ssid name. When I installed the new router I used a
different ssid. Problem is that the old ssid no longer exists and I do
not know how to tell the printer to change to the new ssid network.

SOLVED

I needed to use the Brother CD to uninstall the driver and reinstall the
driver at which tie it found and connected to the new SSID.

Phew!

So now all is well.

I assume that simply changing the SSID on the printer would have worked as
well. The printer manual should describe how to do it.

I thought so but could not find out how to do that.

On the other hand why do things the easy way if there is a harder one.... ;)

It looks like the procedure is in the Quick Setup guide as well as the
Network User's guide.

Network User's Guide
<http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Network Users Manual/NUM_HL_2270DW_EN_2639.PDF>

For completeness, this appears to be the main User's Guide, although I don't
see the wireless setup there.

I got those docs from here:

I know of some people who are like that. I don't understand them, but I know
of them.
