lol .. it was at a great (I hope) distance <eg>
I don't usually bother to block, I know the ones I don't wish to read and I
simply mark them as read:)

Careful, you could catch something.
Blocking is better :)

I hate to say it, but I think the other fellow was right when he
suggested you might not be Internet-ready.
If you don't have an answer to my question.. why bother? Unless of course
you think it makes you look clever...?

If I can contribute, even in a small way, to getting you to put down
the mouse and turn off the computer, I'll be happy knowing I did my
part to raise the average overall intelligence of the Internet
community.

Seriously, if you have to ask if a particular site is safe, you aren't
online material.

I don't care what you think! You have an overinflated sense of your own
importance and you are a joke:)

There are several posters here for whom I have the greatest respect as they
well know.

You are not one of them!!!

You may not realise it but I have been around here for some time. Your name
is not one that inspires confidence, and you are wasting your time in trying
to put me down:)

Thanks, Bob. I will give Gene's solution a try first and if that doesn't
work..... :)

Although I'd say that Bob's post is a solution and mine is merely a
suggestion or two :)

Bob's idea and my ideas have the benefit of being non-destructive, which
has got to worth something...

Just to keep you up to date.. after thinking about the suggestions here, I
realised that the problems began when I intalled an old copy of a Family
History prog. I deleted the whole thing, cleaned up the disc and ran a
chkdsk (as to your suggestion) and all now appears to be well!!!!

Many thanks m'dear to you and those who suggested the prog probs:))

I knew I was right!

Just pulling your chain for a bit of mutual fun...

Maybe you can find an update for the programme at the maker's site, or a
suitable substitute somewhere that's free :)

Another thought - if you set the program to run in compatibility mode for
whichever OS you used to run it on, or at least a version no newer than XP,
it might run OK. Maybe.

You are right of course:) BUT since I am subscribed to Genes Reunited I
realised that I didn't really need another proggie at all:)

Dang.. see what happens when you start to clear out old prog disks..:)
