Windows Updates

Every night for the past week, when I close down Windows 7, I have an update
being downloaded and installed. Is this a problem with an update that's not
installing correctly and if so, how do I fix it? Or is Microsoft inundating me
with updates for some reason? Thanks.

They are likely MS security essentials updates, and they have been
almost daily recently.

Check your update history and see if anything has failed. I had SP1
stuck in an installation loop for a month everytime I shut down or
turned on the machine. Tech support couldn't fix it so they had to
wipe the machine clean.

Regarding Windows7 update:
This is what happened after the Windows7 update:

In Internet Explorer, the zoom-in menu/selection is missing from the
bottom-right of the browser.

The print button is gone from that bar, plus that whole bar.

What to do?

Right-click on an open area near the address box and select Command Bar (to
bring back the printer icon and the rest of that bar) and Status Bar (to
bring back the zoom selector).

They should be. If not daily, not too good an av program.
That has been going on for many months and I often get as many a 4 to 8
downloads for installation. A half baked OS, no?, yes?

No. There are ~40,000 new malware variants per month, just for 'fake
AV' type stuff, currently. If your AV software isn't automatically
downloading new signature files almaost daily, it is of limited worth.

Thanks it worked.
