Windows Fax and Scan troubles

I have been using Windows Fax and Scan without any hiccups. Suddenly I started getting reports of the top of my faxes missing. It seems that fax and scan is now rendering faxes on a legal size page thereby the receivers get only the portion of the page that prints in the 11' of paper (top missing). I have set the scanner to default size of 8.5x11 and if I just scan a page it comes out correct. But on a new fax where I have to insert the image from the scanner the preview shows what looks like a lot of white at the bottom of the page and of course the received image is cutoff at the top. I can't seem to find anywhere to make an adjustment. Does anyone have any input to offer on this problem?
