First part of April, 2016, I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit on my Dell Dimension desktop, which previously had Vista Home Premium.
I have an external hard drive and ran the Windows 7 backup & restore option to that drive. Everything has been fine and then a couple of days ago I received this notification that it had not completed successfully. I ignored it at the time. Today I found the littel red x in my taskbar for Solve PC issues. It said to "check your backup" so I selected to run the backup again. It ran but I still appear to have the same issued.
I have 212 GB free space on my external so that's not the problem. I don't have StuffIt or any of the other programs that were mentioned as causing problems with this. There was something about checking if there's a program associated with .zip. I typed "file associations" into my Start and from the box that opened, I could find no program associated with .zip.
I am using a paid version of Genie Timeline Home 2014 to do backup so maybe I should just forget about running this Windows 7 backup & restore option.
Can someone please advise?
