Windows 7 Internet Issues After Factory Reset

Hello. I was running Windows 11 but had to factory reset my HP Pavilion laptop to its original Windows 7. Since then, the laptop has been unable to access the internet properly. I can download and use Chrome and YouTube but Windows Update doesn't work and I can't run most .exe files, like Norton Network and Brave Browser. Internet Explorer works for some sites but not others.

I searched online and found that my laptop might be missing the file kernel32.dll. I downloaded it and placed it in C:\Windows\SysWOW64, then rebooted, but it made no difference.

Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
