Win7 (64) Desktop "Sort by" broken?

My desktop icons are all shortcuts. When I try to sort by name, it doesn't
result in a correct sort.

I'm not in aero (using windows classic).

If I continually repeat "Sort by: Name" it toggles between two wrong
sorts!?!?

Sort works correctly in Windows Explorer.

It's beginning to piss me off so I thought I'd ask...

Anyone else? What could I be doing wrong?

I don't suspect the UI has anything to do with it. You don't assign the
sort function to the UI.

I did mention that windows explorer didn't suffer this sort issue.

I've the same problem. This dont work. How can we fix it

The shortcuts that dont order by name are made by the program itself
but when i manualy make a shortcut to the desktop its working fine
