Hi,

My Windows 7 machine has been an absolute beast since I have owned it. Never skipped a beat until now.

Recently one day I arrived at my computer to find it had rebooted itself, my desktop background was replaced by default as were many of my personalized settings. Since this self-reboot, everything has become choppy, like dragging a window across the screen will appear as if a video had a very low frame rate. I can get videos to play OK but only in a minimised screen, any full screen video (vlc, youtube) will play as if there is a very low frame rate.

I have run a few disk defrags and they always end up freezing somewhere.

Please help :(

Hi Jim, yep, there's the Windows 10 forum here :)

If you're having problems with video performance, I wonder if you are having problems with your display drivers. Do you know which graphics card you have?

Really glad you like it here :D

You can grab the latest drivers from here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Just make sure to get the correct bit version (32 or 64 bit) for Windows 7.

At some stage during the installation, you'll be asked if you'd like to do a clean install of the drivers - make sure you select this option. It'll make sure they're installed with the default settings, and it will remove the old drivers from the system.
