Touchpad does not work in windows 7 enterprise on insperion 1525

I downloaded windos 7 enterprise... My touchpad does not work even after downloading synaptics web site driver x64 update....what do i do????
Am i doomed to use a mouse only????

Does the touchpad show up under your device manager? (You can find it with the start menu search box)

You can find Dell's driver under the Input Devices section, but they don't offer a Windows 7 version. You could try installing it with Vista compatibility mode: Link

no..the system does not recognize it....Does the problem have to do with the ENTERPRISE version of windows 7?
