Can somebody tell me how to clear the search history in Windows
Explorer? Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Doesn't that just clear the browser's history? He's looking for the
local system's search history.

You are correct, but I seem to have found a procedure. Previous
search terms can be deleted one at a time by clicking in the Windows
Explorer (not Internet Explorer) search box and using the up/down
arrows to highlight a previous search term. Pressing the Delete key
will then remove the highlighted item.

MRU Blaster is the best product that will remove all traces of what has been
done on your computer. (MRU = Most Recently Used.)

(Note, it works with Windows 7 even though it list of supported systems

It was already mentioned, but I will again: CCleaner can conveniently
remove the Search and other Most Recently Used lists.
