I like the ribbons on Windows Live Mail, but I never ever want an easy
way to "reply to all" I want to remove that option from the ribbon. ..
but it looks like I can only customise that 'Quick access toolbar' not
the ribbon ... I can add icons to the "Quick access toolbar" but no
labels? and it looks rubbish .. bring back OE.

Are the current developers at Microsoft retarded?

Not a Windows 7 issue, the topic of this newsgroup. For questions,
declarations, complaints, whines, or rants on WLM, that newsgroup is
over at:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

My news carrier doesn't carry that one, so unfortunately all of my
questions, declarations, complaints, whines, and rants relating to the
number 7 will have to be listed here .. but on my initial rant, I've
made peace with the label-less 'quick access toolbar' in WLM .. because
I've realised I don't need that many buttons, and even I can remember
the function for 5 buttons.

You don't HAVE to use Windows Live Mail - there are others....

I understand what you are saying, but The Ribbon is being pushed by MS
into everything, and I would expect it to be a major part of the
interface of Window 8. OK, that's still not Win7, but, Paint and
Wordpad in Win7 use The Ribbon (and, I assume WLM11 from what is being
said).

There is a fair amount of independent 64-bit software being written for
use with Win7, and much of that software uses/will use The Ribbon design
(very regrettably, IMHO).

I don't think it's the developers, I think the current management is
retarded (Steve Ballmer) and the developers just do what their retarded
bosses tell them to do design wise. But that is just a theory.

Your best bet is to minimize the ribbon and customize the shortcut
toolbar the way you want it.

Eternal September carries that group, along with over 1700 other
microsoft.public groups.

Duh!

You don't have to tell me that, I'm using a different newsreader that
actually quotes properly.
