BladeRunner, thanks for your contribution here. Security is something not to be taken lightly, and as you have laid out, there's no reason not to have a secure computer.

The ESET online scanner, I'm using myself. Last week, I was about to purchase a security suite, most likely an ESET product. But their online scanner scans deeper and takes longer than MSE (my main protection) does. So twice per week, I scan with ESET online scanner, in addition to scanning with MSE & MBAM (1.50 Public Beta).

I have AVG Internet Security (it was a promotion free license) and never had problems.
I scan my pc online, also, just to confirm my security. I've also have MBMA and others programs to scan twice a month.
The best security is the behaviour of the person behind the keyboard!

Hi,
That's a huge list of free security software, to advertise to people, which must have taken you an absolutely MASSIVELY HUGE amount of time to test thoroughly so that one or more install permutations of them into the myriad Windows environments, into which they find themselves stuffed into, (including those aged and poorly or never maintained Windows platforms already poised ready to collapse), ...don't actually collapse.
I didn't spot any advice about possible incompatibility issues, or advice about a tried and tested backup regime before downloading and installing one or more items from your massive list ?
