What is the proper way to hide the arrows on the desktop shortcuts without causing problems like not being able to pin a shortcut to the task bar and the icons being covered up with a black overlay after rebooting?

Hi statichash and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Puzzled by your words ? , any way i have used a few apps that can hide the short cut overlay some work up to a point and others don't but one does stand out and i am using this now.

Thanks for your response.
Proper way means the procedure to use that doesn't end up causing problems.
I will try that tweak tool and see what happens.
