notebook, external monitor & screen savers

My new monitor hooked to my notebook via HDMI is a blessing for old
eyes.

I can not however get the screen saver to work on both screens at the
same time.

Is it me or is it not possible to do this?

That chap says he has no problem using Win7. But there are other
suggestions.

Thanks for the link.

I was unable to get it to work and in the process found something more
useful. If I set the graphics to span the 2 screens I change the 27"
monitor screen resolution to 1600X900 because that is all the laptop
can handle. If I just use the external monitor I can get 1920X1080 so
I have decided to only have the external monitor display and have the
notebook dark.
