no internet access

hi guys i hope everybody;s well any need some help again have just put together a custom computer for my daughter and loaded windows7=7100rc everything loaded great but just cant connect to cabled internet to validate windows 7 there are no yellow question marks in device manager everything running o.k specs are foxconn a690gm2ma board with athlon64x2 4000 with 1gb geil ram i seem to have all relevant drivers .and yet on my machine running windows7 had a few driver probs but internet was o.k====regards====bob

Hi Bob :) Does the network adaper show up on ok in Device manager?

Also, how do you connect to the internet, is it via a router which this PC is connected to (wired)?

hello ian and thanks for your reply internet is direct from cable modem have tried laptop in same port using same cable and thats ok network adaptor shows no problem
