mouse pad not working

i formated my aspire one d255e with the option of windows.old.when i was done,the mouse pad refused to work any more.what should i do?
i went to device manager and found out that the usb driver was missing.how do i go about it?

Make sure you have the proper drivers installed from Acer (choose Netbook > Aspire One > AOD255E). First make sure you have the chipset driver installed and then there are three different possibilities for the touchpad (ALPS, Synaptics, ELANTECH) and you need to install the correct one.

If you are unable that what is specific driver - ALPS, ELANTECH or Synaptics for your mouse-pad then I would suggest to use Synaptics because this is used mostly, even hp use Synaptics mouse pad drivers.
