Hello all,

Summary: new build completed 8/30/12 - 5 days later began Kernel-Power stops - just like pulling the power cord out - almost always when the computer is sleeping - half of them are BugcheckCode 0 and don't have a dump file because the reboots don't give them a chance to be written - they are random and not reproduce-able - Passed tests: Memtest86+, Prime95, OCCT all tests - I believe the hardware stable - replaced the power supply with a new high dollar unit.

Image name and bugchecks that appear most often:
iaStorF.sys 0x9F DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)
ntoskrnl.exe 50 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
ntkrnlmp.exe 0x9F DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)

Who can help me? :)

Very odd...
The minidump lists ntkrnlmp.exe as IMAGE_NAME for the last four crashes.

ntkrnlmp.exe does not exist on my hard drive.

Solved

Solution found - for the archive:

This system has an internal drive caddy. Without a drive in the caddy and with the power off, it should be beyond consideration - right?

Wrong. Even in the power off state, the Intel RST iastorf.sys driver talked to the drive caddy's wonky electronics during hibernation. It looks like the drive electronics would tell RST that a drive had been detected. Without any power the driver would generate a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)... and generate a stop.

Remove the drive caddy = 88 hours of problem free operation.
