indexing failure

I have a folder on an external drive that has all text files. This
folder has been designated a library in order to have it be indexed by
the Win7 Search function. After selecting the library and attempting
to search for keywords within this library, no results are returned
when I know full well there are files that include these keywords.

How do I get this folder reindexed? It already shows in the Explorer
Navigation Pane and in the Control Panel Indexing Options applet.

Excuse me while I laugh at MS' incredible talent at making
something simple ridiculously complicated, buggy, and
presumably, bloated as hell.

Get a real file manager (Total Commander, Free Commander, etc.)
and use its search function. Or get one of many "just search"
programs available.
