My new laptop has windows 7 pre installed and 2 partitions: C: and D:.
While the text color of the folder names in drive C: is black, in drive D: it's blue. It's quite annoying and I've tried to change it without result.
Anybody knows how to do it?

It's because the folders are "compressed to save space". Is this your own partition or is it a recovery partition?

If it's your own:

GoTo Start >> click (My) Computer >> right click your drive D:\. At the bottom of the Context Menu select Properties. Towards the bottom of the new window that opens, make sure that "Compress this drive to save disk space" is NOT ticked. Click Apply. It may take a while depending on the size/how full your D:\ drive is. When finished click OK.

If its a recovery (back up) partition I'd leave alone.

Elmers tip should do the trick.
If you do not want to alter the item suggested, however, you can, in Windows explorer, select "Tools" - Foilder options - View.
Scroll down to "Show encrypted or compressed..etc" , and UNtick it.
