Please explain the difference between...........
Mainstream Support and Extended Support of Windows 7 from Microsoft.

English is my 3rd language and there were times I totally misunderstood the meaning.
So, please no fancy terms.

Thank you.

If you have the Full or Upgrade version of W7 then phone or online support from Microsoft is included during the "Mainstream Support" cycle. Paid support is available for W7 after that via "extended support". Once extended support is over then you cannot even pay them to help you with W7.

NOTE: OEM versions are not entitled to free phone or online support from Microsoft. For OEM versions contact the computer manufacturer.

For OEM Microsoft ONLY offers you paid support but you should be able to go to your computer manufacturer for support for whatever period of time your guarantee lasts. After that you pay them or pay Microsoft but honestly I think you are better off running an internet search; it will be as successful as any help they might offer.
