You have a PCI-e card. Exactly this:

SATALink PCI Express to 2-Port Serial ATA II Host Controller

It would look like one of these:

Well that card does not exist in my pc. Other than the mother board there is only one other board that exists next to the mother board but attached to the base of the pc, not a card. There are also many wires attached to this other board. I can provide a picture of the inside of my machine if that would help, but nothing in there resembles the photos you provided or any other card (other than my video card).

Eh, don't worry about it. You can first save the 3 drivers that belong to it to external memory on USB or disc, then delete the 3 drivers in the driver folder then reboot.

Look in the device manager properties for it if you don't know which they are.

See if it crashes like this. Someone else with the same exact adapter is having trouble with bsods and everything else is fine such as memory and all other drivers.

Just got another BSOD with a different error message than seen before. Thought you should check it out and see what it says. I have attached the mini dump file.

I did not remove the other files yet.

Thanks!

OK, This morning I finally copied the 3 drivers onto an external HD and than deleted them. Upon restart Windows would not boot so I eventually had to do system repair and it reinstalled those 3 drivers that I deleted.

The saga continues..... wahoo!! :D

Did you ever Load the Optimized Defaults in the bios and save? Go ahead and do so if you haven't.

Bad drivers here:

112510-12823-01.dmp
REFERENCE_BY_POINTER (18) <- driver fault
Process: Wmiprvse.exe
BugCheck 18, {0, fffffa800c5418d0, 2, 8b4cfffe83fffffa}
Probably caused by: ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt! ?? ::FNODOBFM::`string'+46411 ) <- system kernel file

1. Uninstall Webroot Spy Sweeper completely:

ssfmonm.sys Thu Jun 17 16:34:46 2010

Run this tool to get rid of remnants:

http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Install MSE:

http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

2. Update or remove these obsolete drivers of Silicon Image, Inc.:

SI3132.sys Wed Oct 03 14:39:29 2007
SiI 3132 SATALink controller
SiRemFil.sys Wed Jun 20 15:42:10 2007
eSATA Removable drive filter driver
SiWinAcc.sys Thu Jun 14 20:02:02 2007
SATALink Accelerator Driver

If you can't find updates, disable the Silicon Image in the device manager, and then click to remove it from the system. Then navigate to C:\Windows\system32\drivers and rename those Silicon drivers to .old - so they don't get loaded in memory and don't bug out.

3. Update other drivers as well:

iaStor.sys Thu Dec 17 13:41:59 2009
Intel Matrix Storage

k57nd60a.sys Fri Oct 16 06:29:38 2009
Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet

REFERENCE_BY_POINTER (18)
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000000, Object type of the object whose reference count is being lowered
Arg2: fffffa800c5418d0, Object whose reference count is being lowered
Arg3: 0000000000000002, Reserved
Arg4: 8b4cfffe83fffffa, Reserved
The reference count of an object is illegal for the current state of the object.
Each time a driver uses a pointer to an object the driver calls a kernel routine
to increment the reference count of the object. When the driver is done with the
pointer the driver calls another kernel routine to decrement the reference count.
Drivers must match calls to the increment and decrement routines. This bugcheck
can occur because an object's reference count goes to zero while there are still
open handles to the object, in which case the fourth parameter indicates the number
of opened handles. It may also occur when the object’s reference count drops below zero
whether or not there are open handles to the object, and in that case the fourth parameter
contains the actual value of the pointer references count.

Good Morning,

I did #2 first, had to remove and rename as you stated. However, when I rebooted PC I received BSOD during boot and was unable to load windows. Had to perform a system repair, which reinstalled those drivers.

I did not do any of the other steps after that happened.
