Hi Windows4Dummies and Welcome to the Forum.AVG is known to be a cause of BSOD's on some Win 7 systems so you need to uninstall it. Download the correct AVG Remover for your system. Download Microsoft Security Essentials as its replacement. Uninstall AVG, Re-boot to Safe Mode (Tap F8(?) repeatedly at POST screen). In Safe Mode run the AVG Remover tool. Re-boot to normal mode and install MSE. If you've removed an AVG Security Suite, make sure your Windows firewall is switched back on!

Update these drivers:

Tue Feb 24 10:42:13 2009 MagicISO. Check you have the latest version.

nvmf6232.sys Fri Jul 31 00:47:55 2009 nVidia Storage Drivers
nvstor32.sys Mon Jun 22 23:19:03 2009

RTKVHDA.sys Tue Aug 04 10:48:13 2009 Realtek HD Audio Codec Driver

VSTBS23.SYS Thu Oct 16 01:30:15 2008
VSTCNXT3.SYS Thu Oct 16 01:29:13 2008 Conexant Modem Drivers
VSTDPV3.SYS Thu Oct 16 01:32:04 2008

It appears those are the latest drivers. Leave those for now.

Can you download and install CPU-Z. The experts will want you to take screenshots/snips of the Memory and SPD tabs See here.

Go to Post Reply, click on Go Advanced button and attach the screenshots to your post by using the paper clip you will find on the top toolbar.
