I'm running the XP Media Center inside of Windows Virtual PC (on Win 7 Pro x64). Last night, when I was checking my installed programs on it with the File Hippo Update Checker (an excellent free app), it suggested an AMD video driver for XP. I'm not familiar with installing drivers on a VM.

So my question is this: If I install the updated driver in the VM, will it affect my whole install of Windows 7, or will it be contained within that OS to enhance it?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know anything about Virtual PC, not having ever used it, but in VMware what you install inside a client stays in the client.

Thanks, I've installed the updated driver, and there were no ill effects on Win 7.
