Ahh I didn't take it that he was new to computing. I thought he meant he
was new to Win7 And WLM.

No, as I said, I just wondered if there was an all in one index to
programmes which I have not found. Obviously there is not otherwise someone
would have said so by now. I have been computing for nearly ten years, but
on Win 98 and Win 7 is totally new to me, but I like it. Thanks a lot.

Exactly that Ophelia, thanks. But I am also an eternal optimist asking for
an index in addition to such a very good search facility. However,
Microsoft are hopefully looking in and may take the hint.

Well, if no one will help, I will do my best to find the posts to help you.
I may be some time.

Cannot find that Ophelia, but I accept now that the index to which I
referred does not exist, but I explored the possibility. Thanks a lot.

Are you wanting all of windows tools Listed in one place then you need God
Mode

To use it:

1.Create a new folder.
2.Rename the folder to
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

(note that you can change the "GodMode" text, but the following period and
code number are essential).

3. The folder icon will change - double click it to show the GodMode window:

I pasted
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} into a new folder but I was
told 'Rename: a file name cannot contain any of the following characters: \
/ : * ? " < > |' I played about with this but did not get anywhere. Maybe
you would kindly be slightly more explicit like cutting your code down to
what you found to be acceptable or, better still, talk some sense into me.

GodMode: not GodMode. It is a colon :, not a period.

I think that may have cracked this but not sure. I have all of the data
shown down the left hand side of the relevant page on this link:
http://www.ithinkdiff.com/4564/enable-the-secret-godmode-in-windows-7, but I
do not have the Action Centre which is shown. What do you think.
The correct name is this:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
That's a FULL STOP after the word'GodMode', not a colon.

You don't paste the name into a new folder you RENAME the new folder.
Right-click on your Desktop > New > Folder
Rename the new folder to this GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

I have View/show all messages enabled. I have not used Edit/find/message
except for this minute, as a result of your suggestion, when I entered
current data, but got no result. I will have a look at that again to see if
I can get a positive answer.

Ok. When you get to message, plug my name into it and see what happens:)

Select and copy this:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Create a new folder.
It will be called New folder.
If you have been computing for ten years you must know how to rename a folder.
Right-click the New Folder and select Rename.
The name New folder will have a blue background.
Position the cursor over the highlighted name and it will change from an arrow to an I-beam.
Right-click and select Paste.
