WLM 2011 Bundled on new Laptop

May I suggest a modification to your post Richard?
I'm sorry, but no matter what you claim or believe, I believe something
else: WLM is not a good news reader (it isn't even good enough to be a
rubbish new reader). But I could be wrong of course; it has happened
before....
Seriously, it appears the group's concensus opinion is as you say. I
couldn't resist pointing out the "I must be right, whatever you think"
style, though

Take your pick. Thunderbird works fine, as do Agent, Pan, MESnews and
a multitude of others. Whatever you think, WLM *is* broken and is not
suitable as a usenet client.
Not all versions of Windows Live Mail are broken Richard. And I have
used about a dozen different newsreaders. Which is a huge learning curve
to try to get everything working right. And frankly, they are all awful.

Hell I just stopped using Thunderbird on this machine just today. I
can't believe I put up with that piece of crap for years. Besides not
downloading all posts (it misses like 2% of them), it started hanging on
toggling between threaded and non-threaded views. Maybe it doesn't like
Windows 8 or something. Who knows? I'm tired of using crap that doesn't
work. I'll stick with things that actually do work. And why is it *only*
Microsoft newsreaders has the "Show replies to my messages" view? Talk
about the other crap *not* working right. :p

After over 5 months, I don't think Richard is monitoring this thread
anymore. It doesn't look like you'll convert Richard to WLM.

Why would you think that? You and I are still here ;)
