Whoa baby, hold the phone.... no version of Eudora, that I've owned,
begriming with 1.xx to 6.xx, ever had a news reading capability..
Pray tell, point me in the right direction to that one, or do you have
things B'ass Ak'wards here???
Well just check the headers of this message and tell me I'm mistaken...

That's because it's missing many features that version 7 users depend
on. It's also not stable enough for prime time. They're still working on
it, though.

Like many other v7 users, I'll be happy to move when it does everything
v7 does.
Found Eudora 8.xx9, and downloaded it.... Will not install it until ai
get more info on it.... It's reported to be a Mozilla like....

What you have is one of the older beta versions of Eudora. They renamed
it Eudora OSE 1.0 and reset the version number to match the Penelope
add-on which is supposed to give the Thunderbird code some of the
features of Eudora.

Just loaded it onto my laptop, and it loads and sets up, all in one, a
lot cleaner than Thunderbird.... (mail & newsgroup)

Any reason you didn't decide to go with a newer version, or perhaps
the latest version, rather than an older beta?

Not really.... I have Thunderbird to compare it with, and have not used
it enough to get a good comparison..... although it does have some
matching features out front, like Eudora's tool bar...... One thing I
loved about Eudora, was not wasting time screwing around with pull down
menus.... By the way, this is 8.0b9
