Windows Explorer - store text string showing path and filename of selected file in the Windows clipb

In the Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP, one of the "toys" would
enable the user to point to a particular filename and then on a right
mouse click context menu place in the Windows clipboard the full path
and filename. In Windows Vista I recall some way of doing the same
thing.

In Windows 7 I don't see any way to do that except to create a
shortcut to the file and then capture the filename and path from the
target window of the properties dialog of the shortcut.

Does anybody have a more direct way of capturing the path and filename
of selected file in the Windows clipboard?

After I posted my question, I saw that Al Dykes had posted the same
question as mine. I hadn't recognized this before I posted because
his subject line "a W7 file explorer GUI question" didn't make it
clear to me what his post was about.

Anyway, among the answers posted as replies to his message was the
response of Dave UK, who advised that one press Shift-Right Click on
the file name and among the context menu that appears there were at
least two ways of capturing the filename and path.

Thank you Dave UK.

Somebody else asked this: I had no idea that it was possible but one of the
guys here explained that if you hold down shift and right click on the file
or folder, one of the options is 'Copy as Path'. That does the trick.
