A friend is trying to get Norton Ghost off her PC. I've tried everything, just cant kill it.
It does not have an uninstaller option, the windows Add/Remove facility wont delete it.

I've manually gone into registry to get ride of some of it but it's everywhere.

Can anyone recommend a (preferably free) file deletion program that will get ride of everything Norton and Symantic on her PC?

Mychael

Edit, I've just done a google search and there is something called a Norton removal tool. anyone heard of it/used it?

Another great example of why I NEVER use any product from Symantec/Norton.

It takes over the entire computer and places files and folders all over the place, some of which are hidden.

I agree with roban, try Revo Uninstaller. It removes the most stubborn of programs. Plus, it removes all traces of the program. Take the fourth (bottom) option, it does the best cleaning job behind the uninstalled program. If by any chance this doesn't work, try PC Decrapifier.

Thanks Guys. Revo found heaps of files, still took a while as you'd know you have to select them individually but seemed to get them all.
Also ran decrapifier which did not show anything so I can only assume it's all gone.

I'm glad it worked out for you. I also use Your Uninstaller Pro which is not a freebie but is more intuitive

I use Your Uninstaller Pro also, great program which searches in-depth all registry key entries and sub-folders. Thorough and complete! Sometimes it will leave and empty folder in the Programs section, but that's it, just an empty folder.

Every time I read PC Decrapifier, I get a good laugh
