I was on a forum the other day and they have a thread where users can sell and buy things from each other at their own risk, but i have personally bought things from people on that forum (I played it safe and went through paypal). And i was thinking, could this forum do the same thing? and if people are scared of being ripped off then set it up through paypal/ebay even..

just a thought.....

Thanks in advance :)

I think this can sometimes work really well on forums, especially ones catering to niches where buying and selling is very common... however I don't think it would work too well with w7forums.com. Partly because it may mean that some people come here just to advertising something on ebay and it detracts from the W7 nature of the site. If we specialised in computer hardware then it may have been possible.

I don't mean this to sound negative, as I'm always really pleased when people post ideas :D. I just don't think this one would be a good direction at the time being.

Ian, I am in total agreement with you on this one. We don't need to start mucking about with a good thing.

If we did, then things may get all "bollocksed up" as you Brits say!

On a side note, I don't see anything wrong with the regulars trying to sell something.

I agree on that, however it should probably be done via PM. Maybe a posting in the Off Topic area and then handled via a PM between the interested parties.
